Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) – 9th Call for Proposals

Maximum award: £60k | Closing date: 23 April 2025

The IAA provides fast and flexible funding to support knowledge exchange activities, fostering collaboration between researchers and external partners. Three funding mechanisms are available: Starter (£10k), Pilot (£30k), and Advance (£60k).

Research Culture Funding Call

Maximum award: £80K | Closing date: 14 May 2025

Funding of £50k–£80k is available for projects that develop solutions or expand proven practices to enhance research culture across four key themes: careers, open research, ethics, and collaboration.

UMRI Pump Priming Award

Maximum award: £50k | Closing date: 28 February 2025

The UMRI Pump Priming scheme was created to encourage collaboration and provide support for activities that will lead to an increase in successful interdisciplinary research across the University. Funds are awarded to proposals that aim to support and pump-prime new interdisciplinary research programmes which seek to release synergies between existing clusters of excellence.

BBSRC-NC3Rs Innovation to Commercialisation of University Research (ICURe) Explore

Maximum award: £35,000 | Closing date: 20 November 2024

Validate commercially promising bioscience-based ideas, research, science and technologies. market exploration for emerging technologies, products and services that offer the realistic possibility of replacing the use of specific in vivo models or refining animal studies in line with the NC3Rs mission.

Progress translation of research towards application and impact through partnering with clinical and healthcare professionals, and industrial partners.

EPSRC Standard Research Grant

Closing date: Open – no closing date.

Standard research grants are available for researchers at eligible research organisations. There is no limit on the value of the grant or the length of the project. You should ask for what is needed to deliver the proposed programme of research.
